SANGKURIANG In ancient times, the land of Parahyangan was ruled by a king and queen who had a son named Dayang Sumbi. Dayang Sumbi was a spoiled child and when one day, she was spinning the yarn and the yarn fell down until she got angry and swore that anyone as long as it was a man who wanted to take her spun she would accept him as her husband. As soon as he finished taking the oath, a male dog named Tumang came and handed the spun into Dayang Sumbi's hands. Because of his oath, he married Tumang, a powerful dog. They also live happily and are blessed with a child in the form of a human named Sangkuriang. Sangkuriang has supernatural powers like his father and he only knows Tumang as a loyal dog. One day Sangkuriang and Tumang were hunting in the forest, when Sangkuriang ordered Tumang to catch his prey but Tumang didn't want to so Sangkuriang was annoyed and slaughtered it.
